Help!

My Axolotls Gills Have Purplish gray spots on them. Is this a sign of disease?

I've spotted them a few days ago, but had nobody to ask for help. Luckily, they haven't gotten worse.

He hasn't been eating worms lately, only frozen brine shrimp which i hate feeding because its so messy. I think it's just him being picky of the slime, though. I'm going to try them without the slime tonight. I don't think this links to it but I'm not sure.

Anyone got help I can use?

Cycling issues!

Posted: 28 Jul 2020 07:15 PM PDT

I am currently cycling my tank with live plants and by adding fish flakes every two days,

My ammonia has not spiked yet and it says at 0.50ppm while my nitrates and nitrates are fairly high, I understand that the ammonia has to spike up in order to get things going,

I am wondering what are other ways to cause ammonia in the tank without buying the ammonia in the bottle

Thanks in advance!
