My axie’s tank mate passed away a few months ago. I was so sad for him but since she died, his gills have become glorious purplish boas! It never occurred to me that having another axis in the tank could have been stressful for him.

Doing his first water change atm. Does he look healthy? I’m new to axies and for some reason I’m super nervous

I wanted to get a backing for Quinn so I made one using Pokemon cards. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I hope Quinn likes it. X:

managed to get my axolotls tank down a couple degrees. I think the difference is huge. Next step hopefully is to bring it down a few more :)

I'm used to his moving around at night. But bee running around to corners of the tanks through out the days. just did a water change is that the reason.

Axolotl tank in a room with consistent light?

Posted: 26 Jul 2020 10:09 PM PDT

Hey! I'm getting my axi next week and I'm not sold on a location for his tank. The amount of room lighting is the big variable of the decision. I'd like to put him in my living room, but there is pretty consistent natural and overhead lighting. Is this a problem so long as it's never DIRECT light? Even if the room is always pretty well lit? I'll be sure to include a lot of hiding places. Is a location like this ok? Thanks!! :)
