I just got these axolots from my friend and she has been neglecting them for months...

I would really appreciate ur help, i have no idea what i am supposed to do.

They look very sick and the dark one has no tail, the arms look broken and her back legs are growing back. Both of them are very skinny, especielly the dark one.

This is my first time using reddit so i have no idea how to post pictures....

Edit: There Will be a picture on my profile soon, please check it out and help me!!

Is the temp causing my axies to hide all day, or is this normal?

Would this tank be okay for an axolotl? It's a 36 gallon bowfront.

white toe tips on juvenile?

Posted: 05 Jul 2020 09:57 AM PDT

i've had my axolotl for about a month and a half, "he" is about 5-6 inches long, and i would assume "he" is about 5-6 months old. "he" recently started getting white toe tips i know this means "he" is becoming sexual mature but i thought "he" had to be a year or older for that to start showing up

HELP! BABY AXOLOTL DYING

Posted: 04 Jul 2020 10:32 PM PDT

okay, so it's my first time raising babies. They're about two weeks after hatching. Water parameters are all fine, daily water changes and feeding (BBS) etc. However, last night, one of the babies got injured whilst feeding. Basically the top and bottom of its tail got squished. (There's photos in a comment below). I separated it into its own container but this morning it's belly is like CRAZY inflated and almost looks like it's about to burst open. What the heck is going on? How do I fix this? Is it going to die?

RIP Sweet Pea

Just got home. Had to travel to another state for a family concern. I left clear instructions with my dad on what to do the week I was away. In my opinion axolotl's can be quite easy and they show clear signs of stress. I checked up everyday and everyday I was told everything was fine. Got home expecting my little buddy swimming around and that's not quite what I got. I know to most it's just an animal in an aquarium, but to any pet I take under my care I give them my entire heart, so this is a complete heart break. Needing best wishes right now.

axolotl high temp water help

Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:32 AM PDT

My central air blew and it's causing the vents to emit heat. i am waiting for maintenance to fix this asap but worse case scenario it may not be done before tuesday. i have the usual fan over the tank and have placed ice packs over the top but the temp is still 73. going to do a water change hoping the cooler water can drop the temp but with the apartment so hot i'm afraid it'll be temporary. i have heard fridging is last resort for ailments but would it benefit the axolotl in this case? so far he seems ok but i am freaking out... any pointers will be greatly appreciated !
