Aquatic Snails My mystery snail, Spongebob, keeps falling on purpose like this. I’m worried he’ll hurt himself. Any explanation for why he does this besides getting down faster?

Mystery snails tentacles gone?

Posted: 27 Jul 2020 03:25 AM PDT

I have 3 mystery snails in a 10 gallon tank, lately I've noticed their tentacles are very short, or not even there at all.

Is it because of tank mates? My water parameters are;

-Nitrate 0 (community now) :(

-Nitrite 0

-Ammonia 0

-Chlorine 0

-CO2 35

-KH 4,5°d

A few days ago my dad bought 2 angel fish without my permission, they need 30 gallons minimum to live but he did not care at all, is it possible they are the culprit?

Just got this Nerite. Was moving around yesterday but hasn’t moved from this position in hours. I’m hoping I didn’t kill it. It’s part of an aquaponics system so I do add a little iron. Otherwise pH 7 and no/low levels of ammonia and nitrites. Anything I can do to help the little guy?

Mystery snail cause green water?

Posted: 26 Jul 2020 02:40 PM PDT

Hello, We have two snails and a female Betta in our tank. A few weeks ago, when it started getting hot out, the tank's water started to turn green. We cleaned it every week, but the green murky water came back within hours. We figured it was just because the tank was getting more exposure to direct sunlight due to the long summer days. Then two days ago, we noticed our Betta picking at one of the snails. Shortly thereafter we realized the poor snail had died and we took it out of the water. Within hours, without cleaning the tank yet, the water started to clear back up. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? We are convinced this was related to the, now deceased, snail. Thanks in advance to anyone giving feedback.
