Burrowing?

Posted: 06 Jul 2020 04:19 AM PDT

I got 2 red spotted snails a few days ago and they seem to be doing really well. The only problem is one of them started to burrow under the substrate and I was wondering if this is normal? If it is should I add more substrate for it to burrow into? Thanks in advance:)

Here they are! The white one isn’t a “baby” but I love them.

Apple snail, destroyer of plants.

Posted: 05 Jul 2020 04:13 PM PDT

Hello, I have a beautiful apple snail who I very much love, but this jerk eats every type of plant I put in my tank. The only plants she leaves alone are anacharis so right now I just have a bunch of those. Can someone recommend me some plants apple snails dont like?

Wonder shell advice

Posted: 05 Jul 2020 08:50 AM PDT

Howdy everyone! I have a mystery snail in with my guppies but because I am currently out on mission with the national guard for Covid, I'm not home enough to properly supplement calcium into the tank for him. Does anyone know if it's okay for me to add in a wonder shell for him but not hurt the guppies? I have fry in the tank so I'm most worried about them. Thanks in advance

New Aquatic Snail Owner

So, I'd like some help and advice with aquatic snails.

How would I go about keeping a tank that has only aquatic snails in it? I'm wondering if I'd need a filter and how often I'd have to water changes without one (if it's possible to not have one anyway). I was thinking of getting what I think are Malaysian trumpet snails from my neighbour's pond (I know they are super hardy because my neighbours don't take very good care of their pond) and keeping them in a 3 gal critter keeper. I can't find any information on whether that size will be okay so I'd like a bit of advice. If not, what size would I need. I can get a few aquatic plants but not many as I don't have that much money to spend and they're pretty expensive around here. Also, what supplemental food would be best? If a 3 gal isn't the best then I'd love if someone could direct me to a bigger tank that's still pretty cheap.

TIA, and sorry for all the questions. I have very limited knowledge on aquatics and currently only keep land snails.
