Dear sellers, please please please check temps before shipping and pack accordingly. I would always choose paying extra for careful packaging including proper insulation and a cold pack than receiving animals that are stressed or dead from the heat, and I suspect many others would too if given the choice.

Please mark the box with something like 'live' or 'fragile' or 'perishable' so that mail carriers may be more inclined to handle them more gently.

Please make sure that anything wet inside the box is packed in a waterproof outer layer so it doesn't leak all over the box and make it easier to crush.

It's really sad to receive animals that are dead, dying, or stressed and not be able to do anything about it, when these circumstances are in many cases very preventable.

Buyers can ask these questions too if there's any doubt, no matter how well known or reputable the seller is. In addition to shipping methods, asking about water parameters is always helpful, as well as any acclimation tips the seller may have if you're unsure.

I learned all of this the hard way recently, and lost over half of the animals I ordered in the space of 2 days. If nothing else, I hope sharing this will encourage others to be as conscientious as possible and ask others to do the same.

I just got a mystery snail but don't know a lot about them. I only got one to clean up my algae problem. Do they get lonely? If so, could a nerite snail keep them company? I am concerned about the breeding.
