Koi “eating” water fountain?

i have just inherited a koi pond after purchasing a house. i don't know much at all about the behavior of these particular fish or even koi in general.

this morning i tried feeding them but they just didn't eat. i know their last feeding was about 24hrs ago from the previous owner.

on top of that, one of them is obsessed with "eating" the turbulent water at the bottom of a water fall in the pond.

the waterfall was off during the night, if that makes any difference.

is this concerning?

My lineris about 6 inches off where it should be, but the pond is already a quarter full- and idk if the rectangular liner can bend back that far
