Books for beginners?!

Posted: 24 Jun 2020 06:32 PM PDT

Hello everyone!

New here- and after a month or so of lurking on this sub I realize I have a TON to learn. I knew a saltwater tank was a lot of work, but I have a lot to research.

I'm willing to put in the work and time (and $$$) to have a nice (big 100g-125g+ tank). I'm looking for a book that can get me started on everything I'll need from nitrogen cycles to RO/DI and all the equipment required, recommended, and anything to make life easier.

I'm looking for the best one stop shop book or series of books, maybe a "Saltwater tank for dummies." I've been interested in having a tank for a long, long time and I don't want to make another one of those generic "looking for beginner tips" posts.

TL:DR Looking for a book(s) for a beginner to get started from start to finish to research Ins and outs of owning saltwater fish.

Side view of my new setup! The ato containers are temporary. The actual container is on its way to me, and will be placed on the other side of the tank.

Can anyone ID these zoas? Got them from my LFS, but I’ve never seen any like them. LFS didn’t know what they were either.

Aiptasia or feather duster? It came in a small piece of live rock from my LFS that had a Xenia on it, but it doesn’t look like a Xenia. It does have tiny stripes/dots so I’m hoping it’s not aiptasia
