As a student I can't really keep fancy goldfish.. I guess drawing them will have to do!

What do you mean we've just eaten?

This is Normy. I won him at a street carnival in NYC last August. He was in a plastic bag, his head and spine completely black, barely hanging on to life. He has tripled in size since then and changed into a beautiful bright orange.

Black baby ranchu

Is our goldfish dying? She's around 16 and she keeps spinning in circles and every so often flailing around like she's struggling.

I have 4 fantail goldfish. One is named Charlize brown. Charlize brown is about 2 1/2 years old and it looks like she has eggs in her. She gets bigger everyday. Just wondering if she has eggs or if she has a health problem.

This is my ~3 year old goldfish, he developed a white dot on him these last couple days. The water quality is good & got a filter going to keep it clean. Only fish in the tank, don’t think it’s ich. Concerned it’s cotton wool disease, but it doesn’t look like the pictures. Any help is welcome!

I am going to be getting black diamond sand and I was wondering if the medium grit is good for Cory catfish?

I'm thinking about getting into the aquarium hobby, and I want a fancy goldfish, but I'm very picky about the kind of goldfish I want and don't know what to get...

I use to have common goldfish as a child and I miss it. I'm an adult know and want to have a fancier goldfish, but I have a very specific aesthetic...

I really like koi fish, they are my favorite, but I do not have the space to give a koi a good and healthy environment. I live in an apartment and can't have a pond, which means I can't buy more than 1; but Koi are very social and need a friend for 3. Also, koi are better for viewing from above, not from the side.

So, if I'm to get a goldfish, this is what I would like:

  • Something slender and streamline. I love the streamline look of the koi and want that in a goldfish.
  • Something that I know will have a long flowing tail. Almost obnoxiously large, like a Veil Tail or Ryukin.
  • Something with red and white coloring, or calico.

The problem is I don't think this fish exists yet, and I like the idea of a Comet, but I don't know if I can be guaranteed to get that long tail though... If there is a rarer breed that fits my description, I don't mind paying a little more so I'm all ears!

When is the appropriate time to do a water change after getting a new fish?!

I don’t have access to Seachem Focus where I live. Is there any other way for me to feed Metroplex to my goldfish? He is being treated with Kanaplex in water but also needs Metroplex and per their instructions, I must feed one if Kanaplex is in water.

Goldfish laying on its side and constipated

Hi, I gave a pair of goldfish for a friend this last Thursday. A male and a female. The female died this saturday, and we weren't sure why but we assumed it was the transportation that was too stressful, since the other one was fine. Today we noticed that the second fish is behaving weirdly. We noticed that it haven't pooped for the last two days and now it's constantly laying on its side in the bottom of the bowl. We don't know much about fish, my friend was intending to buy things to put in the bowl but were not sure what the problem is. The fish is being kept in a large glass bowl with just tap water, and we have been feeding it regularly but I'm not sure what's the problem... Does someone knows what this means?
