One of my Brazos blue dwarfs had babies! Another is still berried. I counted at least a dozen so far! Preparing to be overrun...

What is this crayfish doing? It molted about three or four days ago. Now it’s acting weird. Keeps walking backwards with tail curled under. Is this just normal behavior? Maybe sick? Female making eggs? This is my first CPO so I don’t know how they usually act after molting.

Crayfish scared of me?

Hello everybody! I have a problem regarding my crayfish (Procambarus clarkii), and I was curious as to whether anyone knows a solution for this.

A little background info: I caught my crayfish from a local valley about 3 weeks ago (before anybody asks, no it is not illegal to catch and keep these crayfish as pets in my country). This was an unplanned catch, so I had to keep my crayfish somewhere temporary, until I bought my aquarium and cycled it. By the next week, my new tank was ready for her, and I put her in.

In the beginning, she was curious, and spent her time roaming around the tank. However, as days went by, she started withdrawing more in her hideout. I didn't think much of it because I knew that crayfish are nocturnal creatures, and she did come out during the night. However, recently she's started to be frightened by me, and most of the time, she retreats into her hideout when she sees me coming. Is there a possible way to help my crayfish become more comfortable around me? I've read articles which recommended that crayfish owners should take them out of the water at times, let them roam around on land and play with them for a few minutes. Anyone has any advice for me please?

Mexican Crayfish eggs

Posted: 03 Jun 2020 10:39 AM PDT

My brother noticed his female crayfish had eggs in her tail so he moved her to a secure net. We noticed she only has 1 black egg. She used to have two black eggs but one was dropped and eaten by her. All her other eggs are orange does that mean they wont be fertilized and will eventually fall and be eaten and the one black egg will hopefully grow fully?
