Thinking about introducing earth worms, is he big enough? Are there any good sites on size vs diet?

Couldn't find him in the tank for the longest time. Think I need to rename him to shadow.

Anything I can do to make her more comfortable?

Posted: 30 Jun 2020 08:39 AM PDT

I got a 2 month old axolotl two days ago. Tank is cycled, ammonia 0.3, nitrites 0, nitrates 5ppm. Temp is around 20°C. She looks healthy and she is eating some bloodworms each night.

Whenever me or my parents enter the room, she will immediately freeze up. If we stay still for about a minute, she will start moving again. She won't eat unless nobody is in the room and the lights are off.

I understand this could just be because she's adjusting to a new home and family, but it there anything else I can do to help her get used to eating and swimming when somebody is in the room?

Sorry for the low quality image, it's really rare that I have an opportunity to catch both of them at the same time. Say hi to Jackie and Disko!

Any way to make tub time less stressful?

Posted: 30 Jun 2020 07:47 AM PDT

I got a 4" lil baby a few days before the tank will be done cycling so he's tubbed, I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. Changing 100% of the water daily, feeding bloodworms daily, temp at 66°-67°, when I have the light on in my room I cover half the tub with the lid. I have a small airstone in there, too, he just looks a little unhappy ): not swimming around a lot, mostly just sitting until it's time to eat. Maybe I'm over thinking it but I love this baby with my whole heart and I want him to be as happy and well cared for as possible.

“This video has a weird vibe” - My sister (disclaimer : taken mid tank-cleaning hence the floating particles) I decided to take a video of feeding her a big worm and this is the beginning

Water changing mistake

Posted: 30 Jun 2020 06:46 AM PDT

New tank Axolotyl/Any kind of fish owner here...I committed a cardinal sin. I added the water to the tank, then the dechlorinator with the axoy still in it....will she be okay?

The water temperature didn't change much...the water change was about 30%. I had a hard time getting her out so I figured that would be easier. Afterward I read I shouldn't have done that.

also, is a "correct PH kit" okay to use? A tablet dissolves for help maintain proper water balance.

I have 2 new axolotls on the way and need advice on introducing them to a salted environment. I use holtfreter's amphibian salt solution on my current axolotl.

Got a big new tank for my current axolotls and am hoping to make an addition to their family . Currently have : a wild , golden albino , and melanoid . I've seen a lot of pictures online of gfp axolotls, do glow axolotls only come in green as of now ? Also is that very humane for them ?

Just bought 2 axolotls from Ivy's Axolotls and they'll be here Thursday, does anyone have any experience buying from this shop?

I have a 3 year old axolotl already and when these new two are big enough, they will be joining my older girl.
