Can I keep only a portion of a Mystery Snail egg clutch? Posted: 03 Jun 2020 04:55 AM PDT My mystery snail laid a clutch of eggs this morning, and I was wondering if it'd be possible to only keep a small portion of the egg clutch for hatching while disposing of the rest of it? I don't need 50+ new snails in my tank (37 gallon) but one or two babies would be okay. Is this possible or should I just dispose of the entire clutch? [link] [comments]
Will my snail be able to lay her eggs? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 06:23 PM PDT I have two blue mystery snails an have seen them mate on multiple occasions. She keeps crawling out of the water then falls when trying to get over the tanks lip. My lid sits on the rim of the tank rather than inside of it. Should I put her in a separate container or will she figure it out on her own? [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Jun 2020 09:41 PM PDT Hi! I have four mystery snails and I've noticed their shells aren't in the best shape. How can I increase the calcium in the tank to help them? I have calcium carbonate powder that I use to supplement my gecko, but I was wondering if a small amount could benefit my tank (as long as I watch for pH changes). If not, what affordable options do you suggest? [link] [comments]
How often should I feed my snails? Posted: 02 Jun 2020 08:15 PM PDT I have 3 mystery snails, 1 nerite, and about 30 bladder snails in my 10 gallon tank. I currently feed a rotation of a small amount of zucchini (about a quarter size) and half an algae wafer every three days. There is hardly ever any algae in my tank as they do an excellent job of keeping it clean. I also have some cholla wood in there that my nerite really likes to munch on. Am I feeding them enough? They are very active all day it seems, but I'm not sure if that's because they have energy, or because they're starving looking for food! I want to feed enough that they're not starving but feed as sparingly as possible so my bladder snail population doesn't get out of control. I also have a betta, but he rarely lets any food drop and I feed him with tweezers, so there isn't any excess. Thank you for reading! [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Jun 2020 07:42 PM PDT I bought some nerite snails to help with an algae issue. I love them but literally the minute I set them in they started laying eggs (at least I assume that's what the white dots all over my tanks are). I was led to believe nerites don't breed in freshwater, but obviously they do. Will the eggs hatch? Do I need to worry about overpopulation? Should I just scrape the eggs out? I'm not sure what to do [link] [comments]
Help Naming Two Baby Black Mystery Snails Posted: 02 Jun 2020 06:55 PM PDT I have a 4 gal tank with 9 tadpoles, a few bladder snails, and a 4 centimetre diameter yellow mystery snail named Danny Devito. My friend just ordered me two black/brown baby mystery snails, maybe 1.5 centimetre diameter, and because this was mostly a surprise I have no clue what to name them. Any thoughts?
