CO2 with Crystals; yea or nope?

Posted: 24 May 2020 08:49 PM PDT

Long story short despite my efforts of paring back lighting hours and intensity, calibrating fert dosing, water changes (small and frequent; don't want to stress the shrimps) and even a short go at dosing Excel, I can't seem to beat thread algae. I'm also aiming for some pretty luscious growth and it seems like to get the latter with some coincidental benefit of the former, CO2 seems like the way to go. However, I've heard some articles saying that in a tank full of crystals, CO2 is a no go. Is this true or can I safely do CO2?

Indian almond leaves from wild

Posted: 25 May 2020 01:50 AM PDT

Hi,so I'm fairly new to shrimp keeping and planning to keep neocaridina. I've heard that indian almond leaves are beneficial to shrimps. I wanted to know whether i could pick up some leaves from a friend's tree ,dry them and boil them. Are those the only steps before introducing them to my tank or should i do more things? Thanks

DR. Amano is bigger than any fish in the tank. Pictures barely do the chonk justice.

Noticed one of my shrimp now has a big belly with lighter coloring. Is she preggers?!
