Can I top off the water with boiled tap water?

I'm wondering if I can just boil the tap water and top off the water this way, or if I have to wait for rain water?

Desert Jarrarium?

Posted: 05 May 2020 04:59 PM PDT

I LOVE seeing all the projects on here. I am from the Northeast US and miss the forests... unfortunately I am stuck in a dry, hot desert climate. While I know we have cacti and alone plants and such, is it possible to make a self-sustaining enclosed jarrium that can thrive with partial/heavy sunlight and heat? My cats are too curious for an open cactus and I fear we are too hot/dry for most of what I see on here. Curious for ideas.

Thanks!

Help starting needed!

Posted: 05 May 2020 04:20 PM PDT

Hello all, I have just discovered this sub so hope this is allowed.

I'm a complete noobie and have no idea where to begin.

I have a roughly 1 litre tall glass jar I'd like to use for this.

Can anyone tell me where to buy the correct the correct things to start (delivery preferably as nowhere is open where I live) and any other tips on how to correctly do this?

Thanks a lot
