- My very first jarrarium - Only paid $1 worth of fittonia, the rest all from nature or reused. Apple cider bottle. Felt so good to creat my little world, and hope I can keep them all alive.

- Trying out my greenthumb. My first terrarium. I have a Haworthia fasciata in back, with Petrosedum rupestre 'Angelina' the more yellow one, and a Sedum "blue balls" the greener one.

| Posted: 09 May 2020 10:25 PM PDT I just found this sub and so excited to get ready to make my very first jarrariums - Never heard this name before. :) Is there anywhere I can find a guideline to make jarrariums? Some more questions here - What kind of soil I should put on top of rock layer? Is potting soil ok? Should I add more peat moss or perlite? Can I put sedum inside the jar? [link] [comments] | ||

| Could I create a jarrarium using only resources from the wooded area near my house? Posted: 09 May 2020 05:59 PM PDT Hey all, I hope this sort of question is okay to post here My home has a large wooded area right next to it, about a 45 minute walk through it to reach the next town over. Could I just grab some soil, plants, and water from it and put it in a two pint jar, or would I need to do more? I know next to nothing about biology and how things grow/survive. Thanks in advance [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 09 May 2020 02:30 PM PDT My new tank has been going for about a week and a half now and developed biofilm. Since the tank is pretty small I only put one Amano shrimp to clean it up but it's been about 3 days and I don't notice any difference. Am I missing something or do I need to replace the water ? Thanks [link] [comments] |
