Crayfish First molt and fresh water |
| Posted: 04 May 2020 11:51 AM PDT Hey guys, I took a Mexican dwarf home last Sunday and I believe he went through his first molt. He stopped eating and his for probably a day or two and I swear he looks visibly bigger. He's back to eating today and I just did the first water change and other than a new little plant the layout of the tank is basically exactly the same. Since I added him back he is literally sprinting laps around the tank. I'm not necessarily upset about it because he's being super active so I don't imagine that's a bad thing, just curious if it's normal behavior? For reference it's a 5 gallon tank temperature is right about 76 degrees and I don't have the exact water measurements but with the strips I have everything looks to be in at least decent parameters for him. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 04 May 2020 02:06 AM PDT I used to feed my cray 4 crab cuisine pellets or 1 algae wafer a day. It would take him an hour or two to finish them. After he had a molt, he is able to eat 4 crab cuisine pellets in 3 minutes or less and excitedly waits for more. Should I be feeding him more? Is there any changes to his diet I should make?
