Axolotls with other animals

I was thinking about getting an Axolotl. I have heard that they shouldn't be with other fish but what about smaller shrimp. I was thinking of housing an Axolotl with some sort of food source as an extra food source. Would this work?

Hi y'all. Just scored a frag tank that I'm excited to start setting up for an axolotl. I don't have the dimensions on hand, but what would be the shallowest water you'd put an axie in? Also, I've heard that area of the tank matters more than actual gallons. How true do you find that to be?
