Snail poop or something else?

Posted: 23 May 2020 07:20 PM PDT

Got some plants recently and thought I got all of them off but I didn't. Saw a little guy today and was wondering if he's pooping or if this is something else. Thank you snail

Where to keep mystery snails

Posted: 23 May 2020 09:14 PM PDT

My home is being bug bombed so I'm going to be moving my snails out because the aquariums will be completely shut off and sealed up. Should I put all 5 in a bowl of water or should I split them up? I can also use a small container with wet paper towels if that would be better. They will be in them for 4-5 hours.

What’s best to feed baby mystery snails?

Posted: 23 May 2020 04:19 PM PDT

So I've kept fish for a long time now. But my mystery snail caught me off guard when she laid an egg clutch in my betta's tank. I don't know very much about mystery snails sadly, I was doubtful that the eggs would hatch since I had read that you need a male and female for that type of snail to possibly make babies. But after a while the eggs hatched and out popped 20-30 cute little baby mystery snails. So now I'm lost. I only have algae pellets but I don't know if that would have enough calcium to help their shells grow. Are algae pellets okay? Is there a better food for them I can get?

Any risk to adding wild snail?

Posted: 23 May 2020 08:03 AM PDT

I have a five gallon tank with a Betta and an apple snail that recently died. I have limited options to acquire another snail friend with everything that is happening. But I do have an acre pond on my property that has hundreds of snails I can see from the bank. Are wild pond snails risky? I doubt I'd use them but i figured it could be worth asking.

Adding Eheim 150 canister filter to five gallon tank?

Posted: 23 May 2020 09:36 AM PDT

I'm thinking of adding an Eheim 150 canister filter to my Fluval Spec V (5 gallon). My tank houses one very angry male betta and two large mystery snails. My boyfriend is the experienced tank builder and this is his suggestion to help combat the insane amounts of constant snail poop. These mystery snails are unbelievable.

Has anyone done this? Anything I should know? Bad idea?
