Hack to keep your aquarium rims clean

I wanted to add color to my tank rim so I got some colored vinyl. Discovered that any splashing just beads off and if anything dries it wipes clean with a damp paper towel. Maybe I'm late to the party but I've never heard of anything like it.

Red-nosed shrimp (Caridina gracilirostris). Aka pinocchio shrimp, Rudolph, or long-nosed shrimp. They have a widespread range in the Indo-Pacific, Northern Australia, even as far as western Africa. These are brackish water shrimp.
