My father and I growing up shared the hobby together. He recent moved overseas for a period of time and asked if I would get a tank to take care of his fish. After about 4 months, it seems to be doing well. I'm open to any advice!!!

What's a good brand of protein skimmer?

The current one I have is Bubble Magus and it's getting old and very noisy. I was hoping to replace it with something that is quiet. Suggestions are appreciated :)

12" grow out cube is quickly becoming over crowded and in need of some attention. Time to rescape, transfer some coral out and drop new frags in

I’m starting a reef tank and Lots of people have been telling me I don’t need a filter and that my live rock will filter for me. Is this true? I have a 60 gallon tank with 2 wave makers and some live sand and dry rock and live rock right now I haven’t added the water in yet.

Looking for some direction.

I am very new to the hobby. I started early this February with a 75 Gallon reef tank. My dad was big into the Hobby, and before my parents got divorced, my dad had a pretty major system in a 180 gallon tank, plumbed down to a fishtank in the basement downstairs that served as a gigantic sump, protein skimmer and quarantine tank. So he helped me get started. I've got a small sump, and a 75 Gallon tank, RO/DI Unit, some clownfish, an Condy anenome, some snails, some crabs, a hammer frag, and some kind of tree frag, that I have no idea the name of, because my dad kind of dipped my toes in the hobby for me. I've got about $200 worth of dead rock in the tank, and I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed. My tank has finished up its first cycle, I'm having some serious issues with green hair algae, and I'm testing the water, doing regular water changes, but noticing that I really don't know what the hell I'm doing. I'm definitely interested in the hobby but is there some kind of resource I can read into that will help me start to understand this world a little bit better? It seems like there is just so much information and I have but a small chunk of it. I have been considering picking up a small 20 gallon tank, I have a canister filter I could use with it, and maybe just cycling that to get comfortable with things before jumping into the bigger tank again. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Elliott

How to feed tuxedo urchin.

Posted: 08 Apr 2020 02:39 AM PDT

My tank is algae free now, I have this tiny blue tuxedo urchin inside, I'm extremely worried it might die.

What can I feed and how do I go about doing that?

I've tried ocean nutrition frozen formula 2 and direct feeding it using the suction tube but it's not feeding on them.
