Just got a new goby and pistol shrimp. They hooked up immediately. Such a great purchase.

My favorite corner

Been doing freshwater for the past couple years and decided to jump into saltwater a few months back! Yes I know this 30 g is a bit small for my half black angelfish hence I’m upgrading to a 100g after this virus stuff passes over!

Help needed

Posted: 16 Apr 2020 12:11 AM PDT

I've been planning to set up a 48 by 12 by 12 acrylic tank and was gonna build it myself, I was wondering if 1/8th inch thick acrylic is thick enough and if I could add yellow tangs since it it long, tank roughly 30 gallons

Non-clownfish 10ga inhabitants

Posted: 15 Apr 2020 11:01 PM PDT

I have 2 tanks with clownfish, considering not having any in this one unless it's some black storms. Any ideas for good fish for a 10ga bare bottom sps tank? Open to anything from basic newbie fish and more unique options, only caveat being I don't have the resources to do live food.

What’s this on my live rock? Has the colour profile of pearl/galaxy.

[Help] What is growing on this rock?

Quick question! Will my coral die (also have an anemone) if I leave the light off a couple days? Fighting a heavy algae attack atm

Observation about sump dosing/dosing pump

Posted: 15 Apr 2020 10:58 PM PDT

So with the purchase of my dosing pump, I switched from manually dosing in the DT to auto-dosing in the sump. It's been 5 days now and I was shocked to see my alk/cal stable at 9 and 410, which is something I've never been able to keep above 7.5 and about 370. I've been manually dosing 20/ml daily into a high flow area of the DT. I'm still dosing 20ml/day via the auto doser, the only difference is it doses into the sump, and instead of 20ml all at once, it doses 10 ml 2X a day, about 8 hours apart. I thought This could've been a mis-calculation by the doser and it was dumping a ton of cal/alk into the system, but I caught it at its interval and measured what it dispensed both times throughout the day, and it was spot on at 10 and 10 for both pumps. Has anyone else noticed these kind of increases with the addition of a pump/dosing into the sump?
