Why are people so quick to judge others?! Clearly I’m not done setting up my fish tank. Be positive please! I spoiled my love ones and even my fishes.

Reached out as last resort before euthanizing this pond fish. Let me reintroduce him as Flipper, my ‘grandfish’.

Friends or Foe? Finally balanced the water in gifted 60L Biorb after two months, & know I need to get a bigger setup ASAP after ‘rona, but these two hang out like this all day. No visible wounds on either. They just swim around together & nudge each other often. Is this a problem? New mom.

Hi! So Im at a loss here and really need some advice. I just got a 3.5" Ranchu goldfish 1.5 weeks ago, my tank is a fully cycled (0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 10ppm nitrates) 40 gallon and she's in there with 4 rescued zebra danios. When she first arrived I put her in the quarantine tank and she seemed to be doing alright, I did only leave her in there for 2 days before transferring her to my big tank (I know). But since I've had her she hasn't pooped once. At first it was clear and so I assumed constipation and fasted for 3 days then fed 2 peas a day for 2 days... still nothing. And now as soon as she stops swimming, she seems to float a little. So I raised the water temp to 75° and turned off the lights to alleviate every possible stressor and waited a 2 days... still no bowel movement. At this point I was getting worried and called my vet who suggested an X-ray, which isn't exactly an option for me to pay for right now. So I got pure Epsom salts and yesterday and today did 25 minute soaks in a concentrated Epsom salt bath. She still hasn't gone poo but still has a massive appetite, I dropped a pea in tonight and she was ravenous, I don't want to starve her but I don't want to make anything worse! Open to all suggestions. I really don't think it's an infection though as I see no signs of one and I'm almost certain it's not dropsy as the swim bladder issue isn't very severe and there's no pine coning. But again, I just want her to be alright! Please lmk suggestions Thank you

My comet goldfish is always face first in a corner

Posted: 15 Apr 2020 02:44 PM PDT

What is this behavior? He used to be normal until one of his tank mates died. Could he be depressed? He used to always soft through gravel and swim around and now for the past 2 weeks he is only ever seen on the bottom corner hiding.

75gallon tank for 1 fish. API water testing kit which the test always come back good

It almost looks like a mold or algae. Is this harmful for my goldfish?

Urgent - please help!!

Posted: 15 Apr 2020 01:45 PM PDT

I have 2 fancys in a 240l - I have come home today and one of them is swimming really erratically (as if she is stressed and/or scared) and the other is missing scales on both sides of his body. My female has been swimming slightly slanted for around a week now and her scales seem to be a little rough but I have seen no gasping or upside down swimming. My water tests have come back absolutely fine, they had a 50/60% water change 3 days ago and have been treated with salt since then. My only thoughts are that my female could be showing early signs of dropsy or they could both have flukes or something? I know this is quite vague but I would really appreciate if anyone could let me know if they have experienced anything similar and what they did to treat it?

Thanks in advance

Filter question

Posted: 15 Apr 2020 10:00 AM PDT

I plan on setting up a 75 gallon gold fish tank. I have a question about filtration and flow. I feel most comfortable using HOB filters. The information at large seems conflicted. I understand that my filters should move at least 750 g/hr. That is a lot of water movement. On the other end I keep reading that water movement should be kept at a minimum for fancy goldfish. Is is possible to have 2 AC 110's on a 75 gallon without pushing the fish all around the tank?

I have used canister filters in the past and I'm really not a fan.
I do enjoy sponge filter.

Thanks in advance.

cleared out gravel from a small tank, will my fish be ok?

Posted: 15 Apr 2020 04:44 AM PDT

currently trying to cycle a new bigger tank, while my three goldfish are in a much smaller one i got initially.

there was gravel at the bottom, but i heard it might be a choking hazard and tried my best to clear it out just now. i had to take the fish out in a plastic bowl because it was impossible for me to take out the gravel at the bottom without rinsing it out. i replaced about half of the original water with the treated water that was sitting in the bigger tank.

i'm really worried, i think i might have stressed them out a lot and i'm wondering if this was a bad decision. is there anything i can do or any signs i can watch out for?
