Has anyone watched [life in jars] on YouTube? Love his channel

Top down view of my first jarrarium/jarden. Haven't closed it up yet. I wanted to let the plants settle. Here's to hoping they survive, even if they are just weeds.

My first jarrarium, made from yard moss and stones. My mental escape during shelter-in-place.

My first (neglected) attempt about 6 months along. Bonus gigantic ramshorn snail.

My first Ecosphere try on day 3

Aquascaped local creek jarrarium. Figured could help those interested but yet to give it a go.

First ecospheres! the left is brackish water from a canal to the Indian River Lagoon, and the right is from rainwater runoff that was just a few feet inland behind a rock dam. It will be interesting to compare the two, I can hardly wait for them to settle!

How do i get rid of a dead ecosphere?

I recently started two separate ecospheres. The first one I built about 4 months ago, it's a jar with plants and moss for oxygen, soil, and different layers of pebbles and coal at the bottom to keep the cycling water clean. There are isopods, earthworms and one slug in there as well. Today I went to check on it and I saw that all the isopods are laying around dead. The slug and earthworms seem healthy. I recently started to ventilate the jar again to help the plants produce oxygen so it's not too little oxygen. As it's slowly starting to get warmer that might be the reason for their death? The jar was not exposed to direct sunlight though. The second ecosystem (only a few days old) was filled with water, moss and sand I took from a local stream. I put the ecosphere together and saw that there were some small, local crustaceans in there. After just a few days all of them have died. Maybe they needed moving water? I have seen a lot of river ecospheres with standing water though. Maybe it was too warm for them, as they are used to cooler water? They too were only partially exposed to direct sunlight.

Now my actual problem is not how the died but how I am supposed to get rid of them. I can't take the river ecosphere back to where I got it from because that was a long walk which I can't do again especially not with an entirely filled jar of water and dead crustaceans. There are a few water snails from my shrimp tank in there (I hoped they could help the cycling) so I can't just flush the entire content down the toilet. I recently planned to put a few snails into my naturalistic garden pond as the snails that are already in there are not reproducing as actively lately. I am just not sure if it is a good idea to throw a jar full of dead animals into a pond full of living ones as I can't be sure if maybe there is a pest or disease in there that might end up killing all the animals in the pond. The same thing goes for my other, first jar and my compost pile where all the animals in there originally came from.
