Is a 2 litre closed jar too small four a snail?

I have a closed jar that is getting overrun with algae, is that too small for a snail? Is there anything else I could buy that would eat the algae and survive in a small closed system?

This guy is a few months old now. Open with emergent purple waffle. Inside is filled with daphnia, copepods, hornwort and of course - snails.

Saltwater jar smell

I recently made a saltwater jar and sealed the lid with silicone. There is a smell leaking through and the top inch of water is very cloudy. Is this bad and can it cause any harm?
