Little tiny clam in my pond in a jar

Found a hitchhiker in my pond mud, about 2 inches long which seems a bit big for a pond snail. Should I be worried about this guy eating plants? My jar is 6.3 litres if that’s relevant.

I love seeing all these miniature biotopes but am wondering about the water purity. In nature. The streams are constantly flowing bring with it minerals and washing away the inhabitants' waste. For those who create biotope jars, do you change your water with clean river, lake etc water, tap water or just leave it alone?
