| Posted: 11 Apr 2020 03:38 PM PDT I recently saw a comment on another post that you shouldn't house goldfish and plecos together. Can someone explain why not? I currently have a tank with 1 goldfish and 1 pleco, and they have always done fine together. FOLLOWUP: What other fish (besides goldfish), could be housed with a single tailed goldfish? Ideally, one(s) with smaller tank requirements, since I can't go too much larger than 50-75 gal. [link] [comments] | ||

| Goldfish has a combination of problems- looking for advice Posted: 11 Apr 2020 04:45 PM PDT Hi goldfish community I have a goldfish that has developed tumors on just one side of her body (and they seem to be increasing). Popeye in one eye (same side as the tumors) and most recently some red bumps on the bottom of her tail. The problems seemed to have started two months ago suddenly but since then her issues seem to be continuing to get worse. I've been changing her water more regularly and have been using melafix daily and increased salt but it doesn't seem to be working. I understand the tumors don't really have a cure short of surgically removing them but is there a way to stop them from multiplying? She's in a 30 gallon fresh water tank. NO3: 30 NO2: .5 PH: 7.25 KH: 60 GH: 50 https://imgur.com/gallery/uJOIPHr A little history - she's a rescue fish. I actually found her in a small fishbowl sitting in the trash by my home in 2016 - since then she's tripled in size and was doing fine up until recently. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 11 Apr 2020 07:31 AM PDT I've ordered a 200 litre pond mould for a small garden pond, would this be big enough to have some goldfish? I wanted to originally do a koi pond but didn't have the space so I turned to goldfish instead. if it is big enough, how many would you suggest? [link] [comments] | ||
