Seeking algae removal advice.

I have a lovely white cray named Spooky who has a bit of an algae problem. He's had it since I got him. I hoped he would molt out of it but he's taking his time. Is there a good way to remove it? It's nothing severe and I would never want to do something that could harm him but I just want to see my boy in all his pearly white glory.

This one came in a shipment of comet goldfish, and we would love to know what species she is (or he?)...can anyone help us out?
