My newest rescue, Blinkie the one-eyed glow betta. We're on day 2 together and so far she seems to be responding well to the meds and a clean tank. Looking forward to helping her get healthy.

Stanley the Snail Killer

Stanley is my year old Crowntail. He lives alone in a well planted five gallon. Of course I have some snail problems, but I added an assassin Snail awhile back. Between Stanley eating them and the Assassin eating them, the population is kept mostly in check.

Before all this Quarantine went down, I would leave home at 5am. I'd put down food for Stanley and the Tetras (separate tanks) and I'd just leave. Well, now that I'm home and my desk is right next to Stanley, I've seen he isn't eating his food.... he leaves the pellets at the top and waits under a java fern leaf. The ramshorn snails will come up for the pellets, at which point Stanley attacks. He gets at least one if not two. My fish is baiting the snails.

I tried to get video of this but of course he won't do it for the camera... I just had to share because it's hilarious and terrifying at the same time.
