Axolotl Advice

Posted: 18 Apr 2020 07:05 AM PDT

I have a male Axolotl, Toothless. He recently stopped eating, lost weight rapidly and had me super worried I could not get him to eat anything. Eventually he started eating again and has his appetite back, but he is super skinny, going pale (He is usually black) and is more sluggish than usual.

Any advice on the best foods to feed him to help him gain his weight back? He has bloodworm, brine shrimp and wax worms usually and he is continuing to get those as usual for the time being (May run out of wax worms soon though as my usual place to get them is closed, thanks Covid!).

I have asked my vet but, they're not experts with Axolotls and were not sure. One is asking a colleague and will get back to me. More than I was expecting to be fair as they usually just deal with my rats.
