kill mystery snails so i moved them and than took them out cause they were not moving and smelled so bad, im crying. i loved these guys and found out they dont bother bigger snails, i bought 3 more mystery snails. Gary and larry and i will let you guys name the 3rd one best vote i will name him that.

I have a 10g heated and filtered tank for a Betta and a mystery snail. Travis, my Betta, co-exists beautifully with Prince, the black mystery. I actually have a video of when I first put Prince in the tank with Travis, Travis looked at him for like half of a second and then proceeded to carry on. So he's never harmed him or anything, and Prince isn't intimidated by Travis at all. It's really awesome, considering how I've seen Bettas treat snails in youtube videos and such.

Anyways, for the last 4.5->5 days Prince stayed inside his shell and didn't move other than 2 times; which would have been times that I would have been sleeping. Once on day (night) 2 and again last night. I always checked up on him to make sure he's ok by either pulling him out and sniffing him or touching him to see if he retracts into his shell (sometimes he seems to not fully retract when sleeping/dormant, he always fully retracts when I push on his shell, though).

Today, starting just like an hour ago, he's back out and climbing his favorite airline, seemingly acting normal. Is it normal for them to "sleep" for a few days like this? Water parameters are good.

I should add that Prince is typically very active, from like the 3rd day I had him and onwards he spent a lot of time moving around, climbing his airline, climbing to the top of the tank and then dropping etc. I'd say it was a 65/35 split between activity and resting, which I believe is fairly active for a mystery snail.

I've seen conducting results on the internet so I just had to make sure here. Thank you guys

My black racer snail has not come out of his shell for 11 days now, however, he doesn't smell so I'm hoping he's not dead? I've never owed a snail before and I'm getting very worried :(

I moved him (and my other fish) in a Tupperware container with water last Thursday and have not seen him since. (It was about an hour drive) (moving them from my dorm to my house)
