The front is all new growth since I've had him, is there any way to improve the back of his shell?

Snail proof tank?

Posted: 28 Apr 2020 07:48 AM PDT

I seem to not be able to keep snails alive in this tank. So far I've tried pond snails (I don't know the species exactly but they're pretty small), mini ramshorn snails, and now yellow chopstick snails.

The tank is at 24 degrees C, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, Nitrate 5 ppm. pH 7.6, kH 3, gH 6 It's a 90 litre tank

The current livestock is 10 pygmy Corys, 9 black neon tetras and 3 honey gouramis.

The tank is heavily planted and I dose flourish once a week, and flourish excel occasionally for algae (~3mls a day if I'm using it). The substrate is black blasting sand.

I introduced some chopstick snails to my other two tanks as well which are very similar conditions, just smaller tanks and they have gravel substrate. It's only been a few hours but they're moving etc. However the snails introduced to this particular tank stuck their feet/mouths out for a little bit, then retracted into their shells and haven't moved since. I'm thinking they might not make it because of the pond/ramshorn snails that haven't made it in this tank.

Is there a reason why this is happening? Anything I should check for?

Will this method of feeding snail work + green bean question?

Posted: 28 Apr 2020 11:09 AM PDT

Hi!
I've been reading snello recipes and many call for canned green beans. I often have frozen green beans with the only ingredient being green beans. is there a reason that snails can't eat frozen green beans (that will be cooked before fed).
I have birds and there are certain vegetables and items I always have to feed them, could I feed them a diet of the following and have a healthy snail:
cuttle bone, spinach, leafy greens, carrots, peas, algae wafer and fluval bug bites.

I was also wondering if I could have a small shrimp feeding dish in the tank that I keep a majority of the food? I'll likely get a veggie clip and keep veggies there so the snail has fun traveling and keep the bug bites in the substrate sometimes for some scavenging fun. I just want to make sure I can clean the food up easily.

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys!

I am trying to set up nerite snail breeding tank.

Has anyone ever had any luck in breeding nerite snails?

How did you manage to do it?
