Jarrariums - 1-year-old fern and moss lamparium |
- 1-year-old fern and moss lamparium
- I made a terrarium out of a $2 plastic food cover I found at the thrift store
- First time weekend project
- [picture]Scooped up some scum and water from a pond along with a couple minnnows. Took a day for the mud to settle.
- Something for you mind
- This jar has been sealed for 2 months now.
- Building A String Algae Jarrarium (With Dwarf Amphipods)
- I made a video on how to make a sealed ecosystem after I had some encouragement from this community on my 6 month old jarrarium! Let me know what you think!!
- Set up two new terrariums today out of quarantine boredom
- Day 1 Jar. Aquasoil, Activated Carbon, Clay Substrate, Anacharis clippings, 3 snails. Not sure what to expect!
- Same Jar
- Jarrarium made from old candle jar!
- New to this. Which animals will survive/benefit my jarrarium? There are already a few ants in it.
- First time Sealed
- My first time making these but my yard is full of types of moss and little weed. Any tips are welcome and needed :)
- Question about my Marimo ball
- 3rd attempt. This ones got an American Southwest feel.
- My first jarrarium, native to my yard only, would anyone know what types of moss and plant I have?
- Update on my 1st Ecosphere. Day 4.

Posted: 24 Mar 2020 09:50 PM PDT Hi friends :) I have a marimo ball that is currently all alone in a 2 gallon tank. It has a small filter on it because I read that they like a slight current because it is close to their natural habitat underwater in lakes but he just doesn't seem to be thriving in there. He's fine, but just fine. There's no dirt or any other plants. I was wondering if he might do better in a closed jar? I'm near a river and could go get him some in a big mason jar. If it's a good idea, do I also gather sediment or just water alone? Do I wait to put him in there and let the water settle? How soon would I close the jar? Should I buy a snail? I really appreciate it!! [link] [comments] | ||
