| Posted: 07 Mar 2020 12:42 PM PST Hello fellow goldfish enthusiasts! Currently this is my aquarium setup and I am planning a pretty big overhaul of it. I'm going from plastic plants to real plants and sand instead of the gravel or a nice mixture of both. Now my issue is I have two African Dwarf Frogs and one goldfish and I'm not sure as to how to go about relocating the for a few hours while I setup the new layout. I have a new large clean bucket I plant to put my Goldie in and a little bucket for my frogs. Will they be okay for 1-3 hours while I change their layout? I'm also planning on. Keeping most of their current tank water. Any layout ideas? Suggestions? Or suggestions or tips and tricks in how to beat go about this new change? [link] [comments] | ||

| Recommendation for goldfish variety for screened pond? Posted: 07 Mar 2020 05:45 AM PST I have a 475 gal pond in a screened enclosure and want to add some goldfish. I went to an aquarium store and was told my pond would support 10 fancy goldfish. I had planned on common goldfish and didn't realize there were so many different types. Is one kind better than another in terms of waste production/suitability for a pond? I have several pond plants and am aiming for a balance between plants supporting fish and fish fertilizing plants. Any input appreciated! [link] [comments] | ||
| Goldfish bottom sitting/sinking Posted: 07 Mar 2020 05:30 AM PST Around a week ago I moved my fantail from a 14gal to a 20gal tank, she immediately sunk to the floor and didn't do much.. I thought she was just tired or stressed at first and hoped she'd feel better after a few days. A few days pass and I do a water change, the tests say everything is ok but I still do small 20% water changes every 3 or 4 days. I noticed her poop is thin and white, occasionally with brown or air bubbles mixed in. I fasted her for three days, fed her peas and her poop was completely normal again. I feed her soaked pellets and she continues to poop normally, with the white stringy poop occasionally attached to the normal poop. She gets excited when I feed her, and sometimes moves around the tank, but most of the time she sits on the bottom since she has trouble swimming. I don't have a vet that specializes in fish, or reptiles, or birds in my area, but I do know a koi fish shop that sell tropical fish species. Edit: Because she constantly sinks to the bottom I gave her an air stone for extra oxygen. [link] [comments] |
