My eggs hatched. I have no idea what do now. They've been separated from the parents because I read they eat the eggs so they're in a separate tank but now that they've hatched what do I do now?

Some advice to help a floaty friend

Posted: 26 Mar 2020 08:07 PM PDT

Hey everyone! So I have a crowned pearlscale, his name is Gibson, and he is one of the reasons my house is my favorite place in the world. The problem is he is gassy. After he eats he will as he digests he gets gas in his gut. I have tried many things to fix this problem: Feeding less at one time, fasting and then peas, water quality checks, more water changes, feeding every other day, changing his fish food, and I am at a loss. I have tried Kenta pellets, repashy supergold, spinach, peas, other greens. I read it might be about water quality, but I test my water very often and it is always 0ppm ammonia, 0 ppm nitrites, and between 5-10 ppm nitrates. (Last checked before this post, with a water change tomorrow). His water stays at a steady 75 degrees and does not change seasonally. Now, he does love to try to find food at the surface, even though i have never fed floating foods. Maybe he ingests air? And I doubt it is his swim bladder because during a fast he begins to sink, and his poop floats. UNTIL I FEED HIM THE NEXT TIME. What am I doing wrong? Can I do something about this, or is it just pearlscales being pearlscales? Thank you for listening to my rant. I look forward to answer an questions I have left out.

Water Parameters: Ammonia: 0 ppm Nitrites: 0 ppm Nitrates: 5 ppm pH: I don't know to be honest, after about a year without any fluctuation I stopped testing. Dont hate me. Tank: 55 gallon shared with a black moor and an Oranda. I have had the other fish for about a year, Gibson for 6 months now.

Pretty sure my goldfish has dropsy

Hello, i wanted to ask if there's any way to help my goldfish recover at this point, since i've been reading about this disease and wanted to at least try to do something to help.

My fish got pretty bloated these lasts days, it didn't really feel like it happened gradually, even if they were always more of in the big side. I just noticed it two days ago, and as you can also see, their scales have started to pinecone. Weirdly enough, they aren't bloated in their downside, like i saw most fish with dropsy did, it seems to just go to the sides.

Most of the advice i've been reading said to maintain the tank in perfect condition for them to maybe be able to get better, but considering the pandemic situation we're in, i don't really have the opportunity to buy tests for the water, and i don't have a thermometer either. I do have some medicines, but not all of them have the name of what they actually are, although one of them appears to say that it can be used to help with dropsy. Should i change the water for some days, while giving them that medication?

I also want to point out that i haven't seem them poop for quite a while, at least a week. It could be that i'm just not present the moment they do, but i'm pretty sure that what i've seen when cleaning the filter isn't normal poop, as it has a pink color and it seems sticky in some way. Just in case, i fed them a green pea some minutes ago, hopefully i'll be there if they're able to poop.

Thank you in advance for the help, i hope that somehow they'll be able to get better. I apologize for grammar errors, since english isn't my first language.

Something is wrong with my fish

Posted: 26 Mar 2020 06:11 PM PDT

My goldfish are sitting at the bottom of the tank, opening and closing their mouths. One has all his fins flat against his body. Last night I did a water change and an algaeside, and this morning when I noticed they were in distress I added PHup. What can I do to keep them from dying?

I've once read up an article online about how a goldfish that was fed to some sea creature in a Japanese aquarium somehow escaped death and lived for quite some time hidden through food scraps, does anyone have any article regarding this?

Posted: 26 Mar 2020 01:42 AM PDT

Fun fact: Because the goldfish has lived in the dark for quite some time, it has lost it's colouration. The goldfish after being found and caught is now exhibited in a different place in the aquarium because of its remarkable history.

Is the white one shubunkin or comet ?

Posted: 26 Mar 2020 03:06 PM PDT

Today's the big day, i'm moving my orange baby ! He's lived in a tank for 10 years and i've only fed him inanimate food. Do you think he'll do well in the pond ? Also there are already tons of mosquito larvae. Will he be okay and not eat himself to death ?

Help! My goldfish recently has lost a scale, and now has a nip on his dorsal fin. Water params are great (ammonia: 0, nitrite: 0, nitrate: 0, pH: 7-7.2,). He only has one tank mate (a telescope goldfish) and a few pest snails. Can anyone help me figure out what’s going on?

Posted: 26 Mar 2020 08:48 AM PDT

This goldfish gets this on his top fin every few weeks. It lasts a couple of days & goes away & always reappears in same place. It has lately started appearing on his tail too. More in comments!!

Mixing large and small comet goldfish

Posted: 26 Mar 2020 05:08 AM PDT

I have 3 comet goldfish at home in a 40 gallon pond (just for the winter months, when it gets warmer they'll go in a 200 gallon) - they're all about 4 inches. I just spotted a comet that I would really like to add to my pond, but he's only about 1 inch. Would I be okay to add him in with my big guys or should I let him grow in a smaller tank first?

fish with swim bladder?

Posted: 26 Mar 2020 09:47 AM PDT

hi guys! i'm a new fish mom (i adopted him from a friend who got kicked out of her dorm due to the virus) and he's the happiest and cutest fish out there (subjective i know). i've been researching tons but a lot of it has been as i go. just today i noticed he's been lethargic and stays floating at the top of his tank. i'm pretty sure it's swim bladder :((. are there other things it could be and what treatments are best in y'all's experience? i'm sorry again but i'm super new to this and i want my fish to be happy and healthy!
