mobile water change station...

mobile water change station...

I'm building a mobile water change station. Conventional wisdom says that one is RODI water, and the other is a mixing tank for salt - but if I want to drain the tank into this system I'm left with two options I feel.

  1. Buy a 3rd container and plumb it into the system on the lower shelf - drain the water into that then pump it out with the same plumbing.
  2. Use one of these as a waste water container and have the RODI water somewhere stationary, which would also be the ATO water. Fill one container with water and salt, mix in that one and then drain the waste water into the 2nd.

I'm thinking that option 2 makes the most sense because then I don't need to deal with the hassle of the RODI connections into the cart, unless I mounted the RODI filter to one of the ends and it would be easy enough to unscrew from the faucet when moving it.

I don't see many published examples of truly mobile water change stations, so I'm hoping you have some ideas.

Interesting how they're going away with the non pro models and they have the "Pro" and "Blue". To be honest, I think I'd like the blue unit a bit better...

What is this spot on my bubble coral? He's been super happy for the 3 months I've had him. Maybe something picked at him? It just showed up this morning.

Do I need a calcium, magnesium and Alkalinity test kit if I am starting a 29g pico reef or would calcium be substantial enough?
