You guys really inspired me on getting a planted tank, but I don't know where to start.

Posted: 27 Feb 2020 12:28 AM PST

I always wanted a really long tank as some kind of room divider.

But what you pull up here is way more beautiful than just a fish tank. I could also make it in smaller tanks and save a lot of money.

I just have no idea on how to even start to learn stuff about it. Most websites I find kinda assume you already know the basics and just talk about them.

Do I need fish or snails or shrimps or whatever? Or can I plant it without ? What about the ground? The water? Etc. Etc.

(Bonus points if you know German instructions, but I guess my English is good enough)

So much new growth it’s turning into a jungle. Any recommendations of anything else I should do?

First go at a DSM tank. 60S

Just finished planting what will be my Neocaridina shrimp tank. Carpet is dwarf hair grass. I have pasted some Christmas moss to the large driftwood in the middle. This has also been modified into the return for filter/heater. Water will flow out of the top of the wood and cascade down the front. I over bought on hair grass for the DSM cause I have a habit of being impatient.

What are these two plants growing in my tank? The spidery is especially curious to me. That one has been growing a bit faster than the other.
