Quick Q. Will snails die in a closed jar? Posted: 19 Feb 2020 01:10 AM PST I have a mason jar, about 20% dirt, 55% water, alot of plants. Closed lid. Will snails survive? Or do they need fresh air or something? I'm not quite sure how it works. [link] [comments]

How do sealed jarrariums work without unlimited access to CO2? Posted: 18 Feb 2020 07:59 PM PST Interested in making a land based one and have always wondered this. Have only made aquatic jarrariums so far. [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Feb 2020 12:44 PM PST Dear Jarrarians, The little sister of my gf has to make a sealed salt water jarrarium for school in a roughly 2 Liter jar. Yeah. She struggles hard with that task, had many jars die on her, so I come to you for help: do you guys have any idea how that could be done? She has to have some form of animal and some form of plant in it. I (and she) will be really grateful for any tips and tricks you guys might have! [link] [comments]
Newbie, protein build-up/biofilm EVERYWHERE haaaaalp Posted: 18 Feb 2020 10:59 AM PST So I just started my first setup a little less than a week ago, and there is some kind of wickedly gross clear/whiteish goo accumulating all over. I put an airstone in, which has at least stopped the layer that was forming at the surface, but the plants and everything are getting covered and getting worse. It's also starting to smell. I'm nearly ready to just toss the thing out, but I started it because I recently broke down my freshwater tank and wanted to save my favorite plants. Set-up: ~2.5 gallon bowl Miracle-gro organic capped w/ labradorite chips Seeded w/ cycled bio media from my tank 2 banana plants, 2 dwarf lily bulbs, 6 moss balls, 1 lucky bamboo plant Any advice majorly appreciated.
