Goldfish - Aquariums - Looks like my local Petsmart finally hired someone who isn’t an idiot. The tanks are pretty clean for once, and this note made me smile.

My husband went a little crazy for Valentine’s Day and I’m so excited! Second 75g, fx6, and finnex planted+ 24/7! Now I have two of the same exact tanks and it’s awesome. Mid water change here, didn’t want to get wet while installing the canister.

My fishes tank mate passed from complications with an injury not long ago. I'm keeping an eye on him to see if there's any issues I need to worry about, in case there was more to it. Whilst I'm considering a new tank mate how can I help with enrichment. We're not allowed moss balls here which I considered for some grazing, and plants will absolutely not survive... any ideas how to keep him distracted and not so lonesome whilst I work.

Sand substrate grain size?

Posted: 15 Feb 2020 09:36 AM PST

So after doing some reading online, we decided to get our goldies a sand substrate (they have bare bottom right now). Our lfs has silica sand.

What grain size would you think would be better 0.5mm or 1.5mm? Also how do you clean this with vaccuum tube? And is algae growth a problem with sand?

Any tips and sharing experience are welcome.
