They get fed the good New Life Spectrum pellets and frozen bloodworms, and Todrick the Vegan Chungus ignores those and goes straight for the salvinia. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Do any of you know what these are? He has little black spots and I’m concerned. They showed up maybe 4-5 days ago.

Fancy breeders in Victoria, Australia?

Posted: 03 Feb 2020 11:02 PM PST

Hey guys! So this is probably a bit of a long shot and I may also post this over at another subreddit as well, but I live in Victoria, Australia and I'm having trouble finding a quality breeder/supplier of fancy goldfish types (I'm mostly interested in Ryukin and Oranda, particularly calico) so I thought I might ask here!

I'm still in the saving for a good tank/ doing my homework phase so I won't be buying for a while but I'd like to see what my options are as i've visited a few nearby aquariums and wasn't too impressed with the selection or health of the fish for sale.

I'm also open to getting fish shipped to me from a breeder in say, NSW, but if possible I'd love a closer place where I can go see the fish in person.

Me again!

Tig is still eating well, and is her normal self, but this seems to be taking a while to heal.

It's better than it was, but I'm wondering if anyone's got any treatments or anything they'd recommend? She's obviously not going back in the main tank for some time, but all the guys in there are fine too.

As before, all water parameters are perfect, shes in a 10G because my big hospital/quarantine broke (more on that later!) Started after she got pushed into a sharp edge (after the boys managed to turn the nice smooth side over) and now it looks like an ulcer.

Are my fish going to die?

Posted: 03 Feb 2020 03:46 AM PST

The guy at the pet store sold me a bottle of Quick Start that supposedly introduces bacteria into the tank and allows introduction of fish straight away. I put the liquid in the tank (ten drops he said) and I read online that it's snake oil. Is this true?
