Emergency Please Help

Posted: 20 Feb 2020 06:57 AM PST

So yesterday evening we finished moving some very problematic tenants out of my mothers house. While cleaning we discovered a bowl near where they kept an aquarium. Inside this bowl I found a wierd looking animal. The a-holes had left it behind for some reason. I instantly fell in love with the little dude and a two or three hour long reading session followed. I immedietly went out as soon as the stores opened and bought a tank. I filled it with distilled water as an emergency measure. I found out this is a no no. Now I have a dilemma. Everything I read is talking about fishless cycles and not putting them in right away, but I don't have time for that right now. He needs something to stay in. I got some water conditioner, but can I just condition some water and put my new little homie in?

Throwback a couple of years when we did a big tank change...

Posted: 19 Feb 2020 02:42 PM PST

Hello everyone! Need some help! He hasn’t really eaten in two weeks. He will eat a half a pellet every couple of days but that’s it. He has been pooping so he doesn’t seem impacted. Have been trying to ween off of blood worms but he’s been refusing pellets for so long I’m worried for his health.

Floating update

Posted: 19 Feb 2020 06:38 PM PST

So my little guy percy has been floating for about 2 and a half weeks. There's nothing in his tank to cause impaction and the bubbles are now quite visible in him. He's going to be taken to a vet on Monday, a day after the 3 week mark and was wondering, what would the costs be like? I know I can afford the examination but was wondering how expensive the procedure would be? Living in Ontario Canada if that makes any difference.

These were my parameters on Sunday, one of my axolotls has fungus out of no where. Temp of tank is always 64-65 as I have a chiller. I know ammonia and nitrates are a little high but I did a water change right after this. So my question is are my parameters way off for axolotls?
