Floating mystery snail

Posted: 19 Feb 2020 09:02 PM PST

One of my mysteries has been floating for a couple days now. She isn't reacting to food and she won't stick to the side of the tank or plants. She's wiggling her antennae and she closes up when I touch her but I'm worried. I think she's older because she's pretty big but I thought I would have more time with her (got her in October when her shell was a mess). Has anyone had a snail like this that lived? What did you do? I just tested my water and the parameters are all good. No ammonia, the pH is in a good range, and nitrites/nitrates are low.

How sensitive are snails too oxygen in the tank?

Posted: 19 Feb 2020 01:04 PM PST

I can't keep nerites alive and I think it might be oxygenation, what's been happening is I'll acclimate them, put them in, all is fine, next morning they'll be on their backs, flip em over and keep finding em on their backs, then dead, all in under a week from bringing them home to dead, the only ones that live are the one or two that crawl above the water line, and hang out there, if I grab them and put them back in the water, dead.

Tested my water for copper, none, parameters are perfect, I started to suspect aeration/oxygen issues because the ones that stay alive are the ones that make it out of the tank, which is why I'm asking how sensitive they are to low oxygen.

Thanks in advance!
