Here is the place to post questions about pest ID, coral/fish ID, your cycle, or any other questions that generally wouldn't start up a conversation. If you have an interesting or unique question please create a new thread so everyone can discuss it in length!

These are some great resources for ID's of pests/algae.

My dickhead blenny knocked this frag over a month ago and I just found it today, he really wants to live!

I noticed a few weeks ago the tissue around the base is receding but the polyps still extend huge. The head skeleton near the head is deforming like it wants to split. Tissue isn't receding past where it is. Is this receding because it's trying to split or is it dying?

New neon trachy from AquaSD. My new favorite coral.

Posted: 10 Jan 2020 08:24 PM PST

Ever since i got this anemone, he has never swallowed anything i fed it. Always spits it out. Have had him for 3 months now. I even tried feeding him reef roids and he ends up spitting it out. Is it because hes getting enough light that he does not need to be fed? He does follow where the light is

Can anybody tell me what kind of mushroom coral this is? Some are telling me it's a rhodactis, but pictures are making me unsure. I got these from a customer of mine.

Marsaqua lighting question

Posted: 10 Jan 2020 08:45 PM PST

Hey guys, planning on starting my first reef tank later this year. My tank dimensions will be 2ft x 1ft x 1ft (75cm x 45cm x 45cm) (roughly 42 gallons). As this will be my first reef tank, I'd like to keep it simple with soft corals.

Would a marsaqua light be sufficient? Also should I be going for the 165w or 300w version? Thanks in advance!

Wrasse recommendations for a 65 gallon

Posted: 10 Jan 2020 06:00 PM PST

I am almost certain I will get some kind of flasher wrasse (probably mccoskers), and I would like to have one or possibly 2 more reef safe wrasses in the tank.

Zoanthids

So my buddy has a 120gal and his zoas haven't been opening up for a good bit. All his parameters are good and he's tried a bunch of different things. So he sent me here. Yall got any ideas on what to do? (All the other corals are doing well, and his Miami vice zoas are also doing fine)

If I'm drilling holes for bulkheads, is there a "average" size bulkhead used? Was going to do 5 holes; 3 drain, 2 return. 120gal tank.

Woke up to hundreds of these on front glass of Aquarium. Pods or pest?
