Small worms(?) swimmimg in my tank. What are they? Are they harmful? How did they get in? How do I get rid of them?

My axie is eating and swims around alot, but I think she has a fungus. Do I need to treat the tank as well as give her salt baths? Or just give her salt baths?

Got this guy from the lfs on Christmas Eve and posted then. He hasn’t eaten since I got him so I had him fridged since yesterday. Ate like 9 pellets the day I got him nothing since. Can you guys see any visible illness besides malnutrition and short gills?

Hello! And a couple of quick questions!

Hello! And a couple of quick questions!

Hi there! I've been lurking about here for a while, but only just decided to try and figure out how Reddit works.

Anyway, I've got a quick question that I was hoping y'all might be able to answer for me! Currently, I've got one axolotl in a 20-long who is doing swimmingly. This is my first axie, and I have the need for another, naturally. I'm planning on setting up another tank to keep the next fella in as soon as I can find myself a nice heavy duty shelf to stack them on. My question(s) are about setting up and the meantime:

  1. My current tank has a sponge resting below the filter output to lessen the flow. If I take that sponge and move it into the new tank, will it help it cycle more quickly? I'm not sure how much happy bacteria would be living in that sponge vs whatever's living in the filter.
  2. There's a reptile show near me soon and my willpower is not great. Were I to acquire a second axolotl before my second tank is cycled, is there any harm in keeping housing it with my current kid just until the new tank is ready? I know that 20g is not great for more than one long-term, but for a few weeks I'm thinking it should be okay so long as I stay on top of maintenance? My current axolotl is approximately 4.5-5" long, if that helps you visualize.

Malarkey says hello!

Repashy?

Posted: 02 Jan 2020 07:00 AM PST

Hey, I have a question. I read on Caudata that some people feed their lotls repashy food. They recommended meat or grub pie. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this food especially with axolotls, do they eat it? Would it be a healthy option for them?
