I love my shrimp tank. They’re happy after a water change.

First tiny baby hatched in my aquarium. Yesssss.

Is this ghost shrimp pregnant? I noticed the fat belly and I thought so, but I’m not experienced with shrimp.

A bunch of pregnant shrimp in a nano tank, what to do?

Posted: 22 Nov 2019 09:46 AM PST

So I have a small cube nano tank with like 8 shrimp in it. The tank is my first shrimp tank and has only been stocked for a month or two. Over the last few weeks I see noticed that 5 of the shrimp are carrying eggs, the first of them started hatching yesterday (proud shrimp daddy). But it got me thinking, how many is too many, and how do I manage my population?

Are there any 24 hour live-streams of aquariums to study and relax to?

To RODI or not?

I've got 2 tanks (1 shrimp only, 1 community) that are currently filled via aged city tap for the past year. During this time I've tested parameters and have noted quite a swing in things like gh/kh/ph/tds/etc. Also noted during this time are ebb and flows of my shrimp breeding/dying off. Should I just switch to RODI and salts? I have neos in the tanks (orange sakura and culled PFR). I'd say the shrimp only would be easy but would trying to maintain a community tank be a moot venture?
