Feeding juviniels surface bio film

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 10:54 PM PST

I have a tank that has been producing a "good" amount of surface biofilm about every 2 weeks. I was wondering I could feed that biofilm to juvinile shrimp in another tank.

Algae growth in tank — what do I do?

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 10:01 PM PST

I have a light that causes algae to grow in the tank. I got anti algae water treatment, but after reading the back, it says not to use with shrimp. Any suggestions as to what I should do?

Anyone else notice berried females hanging out together?

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 01:15 PM PST

I have tigers and bees (caridina) but maybe neos do this too. Idk.

In my tanks it seems like berried females are always close together. It seems intentional. Like currently I have 4 in one of my tanks and they're never more than a few inches apart. I've noticed it any time I've had more than 1 berried female at the same time.

I want to start keeping shrimp and need as much help as possible.

I'm new to owning fish and I am very interested in owning shrimp. I currently have a 75 gal with 5 platy fish and 2 panda corys. I am wanting to stock it up more but I can't pick what else to add. I also have a 2.5 gal that I can start to cycle. I am about to receive a 30 gal as well. If I understand correctly, different shrimp require different care. What are good tank mates (and plants)for them if I do add something with them? Any and all advice is welcome. TIA

New shrimp developing white streaks ? I got some ship shipped yesterday and they all seem to be acclimating well (only one death after 24 hrs) but some have developed white or light red streaks. Are these fire red shrimp or is it a water parameter issue? I already had 6 shrimp in the tank
