Question about tank mates

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 10:30 PM PST

This is probably a dumb question but could kuhli loaches be kept with goldfish? Or large body tetras?

I have a 75g tank that has 13 kuhli loaches, 6 gold barbs, a female bristlenose, two diamond tetras, and 4 lemon tetras. Kept at 70*F

I've been trying to figure out what to stock it with and I've always loved goldfish but never had a big enough tank. I think it's technically big enough for at least a double tail but idk about tank mates.

I was thinking a ryukin or two?

Anybody else think goldfish are so ugly their cute? Like a pug?

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 05:19 PM PST

I love goldfish and all fish in general. But by the grace of god, you GOTTA know that a big ol' Ranchu is ugly as sin. They wiggle like little water balloons and frankly I love them with all my heart.

Can anyone tell me what kind of goldfish this is? Does it have a specific name?

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 02:31 PM PST

Son brought home two goldfish from carnival 3 months ago, currently both in 10 gallon tank...wife will not let me get bigger tank...need advice.

How can I make them as comfortable as possible given these circumstances? I am already using two filters and weekly 50% water change (gravel vacuuming 3 times per week). Water is crystal clear. Fish appear happy and healthy. How long can they survive like this?

all my fish got sick and died

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 01:23 PM PST

So I've been battling this internal disease that my goldfish have for about 2/3 months now, and today I had to say goodbye to them. 😖 I had been treating them with every treatment that should have saved them and sadly none of them worked. It started with my Ryukin getting Finrot and then it all went downhill from there. We brought them to a fish hospital today and they where so confused as they weren't sure what was with them. RIP 🙏🙏

Cycling Progress

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 11:37 AM PST

I've been cycling a 40 breeder for about a month now and I have 0 amonia but nitrate and nitrite spike. What does this mean? Should I perform a water change or wait it out. I really want the cycle to be done so I can get 2 Goldies

How can I see my fish more often?

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 03:30 AM PST

Hey reddit!

I have a 210 gallon pond (a little bigger but I don't care I am not going to overstock). I have black pond liner and I have black fish. Now that it is winter here all my fish including my black moor and panda moor go to the bottom of the pond which is 2,7 feet deep. You get the problem I can't see my fish until summer. This really bumps me out. My question is ''How can I see my black fish more often with black pond line?''

Goldfish harassing Nerite Snails

Posted: 23 Nov 2019 07:01 AM PST

On Wednesday I added three zebra nerite snails to our 20 gallon tank. Everything was fine up until our goldfish, Marigold, decided to keep picking them up in her mouth and spitting them out. As a result I've had to keep flipping them over as she knocks them onto their backs when she does it.

Will she eventually learn they aren't worth bothering with? I assume this is kind of stressing them out and I've thought about the prospect of rehoming them, and getting a larger snail that she won't be able to pick up.
