Poop pictures, please~

Can any of you post pictures of juvenile axie poop? I know it sounds weird, but I'm new and I wanna know if my little ones are pooping. My one girl was floating for about a day on/off and not eating, and it scared the crap outta me (no pun intended)

I see these little brown nuggety things that I *think* are poop, but I'm not sure. Please advise!

air stone?

Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:04 AM PST

Hi there, I'm thinking of getting an air stone for my 40G tank. Have any of you used the Hygger mini? Would that be too small? I've read they don't like alot of bubbles/turbulence, that's why I'm thinkingof gettng a smaller stone/pump. Thanks!

Help Sexing My Axolotls / Swollen Cloaca?

Posted: 28 Nov 2019 07:40 PM PST

Hey all!

We got our axolotls from a local breeder about six weeks ago, and they've been doing really well. The lucy is about 8-9 months old, and the mel is a month younger, according to the breeder we got them from. They're in a 40-gallon breeder tank and fed live earthworms every other day.

The mel is usually really active, swimming about the tank at all hours of the day, and interacts with us whenever we enter the room. The lucy is a lot more shy, and is normally under the half log hides.

Recently, we noticed that the lucy's cloaca is a swollen - way more than its been in the past. It's been this way for about a week or so. Their behavior hasn't changed at all.

We never really notice them poop and almost never see their little pooplets while they're whole - we normally only notice them on water changes when we clean the substrate (20% every week).

Temperature is consistently around 62F and all of the ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels are good, as is their pH.

Anyway, I'm hoping y'all could help us sex them to know if we have one of each sex (and if so, if the lucy is pregnant), or if they both seem like the same sex. Also, anything y'all could tell me about the swollen cloaca issue would be super helpful!

Thanks, everyone!!
