How thicc can I let this go? Its such a PITA to trim, the leaves just get everywhere

My small experiment. Motivation from a YouTube channel. 6 gallon Walstad method about a month in. Plants are doing great. That hornwort growth is like 2 days from being trimmed to the substrate ha. Only complaint is the water gets cloudy after a few days.

New to water life. So in love with fish and plants. This is a 20L about 3 months old. My first tank. No co2. Light is fluval 3.0. eco complete substrate. I don't even really know the names of all the plants lol.
