My Inktober for today. The prompt was Ephemeral. Fitting for how short of a time I had my boy Spot.

What do you guys think of my Japanese Zen Garden Aquarium? It’s a 20g and I’m planning on putting my female koi Betta, 6 rummynose tetras, cherry shrimp, and two mystery snails in here

my mom got me this betta last week and this is how he came to me, i’m relatively new to fish/betta keeping and i’m not confident on identifying fish rot or other problems, i was wondering what you guys think the sparseness on the inner fins is and how to fix it thank you for the help!

Does anyone else baby talk their fish?

Posted: 20 Oct 2019 07:38 AM PDT

I know a lot of people talk to their fish but I noticed recently that me and my sister have a tendency to speak to our fish in an extremely high pitched tone of voice. We'll say things like, "Hello sweetheart," and "What are you doing?" in really high voices and constantly coo at them. We also say, "good job" every time they eat a pellet when we're feeding them (even though we feed one pellet at a time) and use the same high pitched voice to try to get their attention for any pellets they miss. Our fish literally don't respond to us when we're speaking in normal voices but we don't do it often anyways, so I was wondering if anyone else baby talks their fish?
