Her “back” and side. Sorry for the double post-it was thoughtless but... the glass is clean.

Marine velvet wiped out my tank :(

Posted: 29 Sep 2019 09:42 PM PDT

It started with my kole tang, then my chromis, and today i put down my clownfish. I tried copper, fresh water dip etc...it was just too late. It all happened so quickly. I just feel like crying. I lost my favorite clownfish. Going fallow now for 76 days. Also recently lost gold hammer frag to brown jelly disease. Woke up and it was dead. I love this hobby, but loss of livestock really hurts. Sorry for being depressing, just needed to get it out.

Reefing in the Military: Moving help

Posted: 29 Sep 2019 03:49 PM PDT

So I'm in the military, and a rather experienced nano-reefer. However I've always opted to sell/break down tanks when I move. Now I have a 10gal that I'm extremely fond of and that's an option I'm reluctant to turn to, plus I'm in a location where any hobbyists are ~3hrs away, so here's my predicament.

In about a month I'll be moving to a base over 13 hours away, where I'll be staying in a hotel room for about 3 weeks. After this I'll move to another base that's another 8 hour drive.

Is it possible that I could keep corals and fish alive during this journey? I'm considering using buckets or even just bagging them like a fish store during the traveling part, then maybe set up a simple tank in the hotel room?

Mainly concerned about a 12+ hour drive with fish and corals.
